Things are not what they appear to be at Chester’s Blacksmith Shop. What they do appear to be is all about an obsession - An obsession for mind-expanding art, hip men’s fashions and extraordinary design.
It started years ago in Portage, Indiana, routed through Chicago and made a long stop in San Francisco. Like most young boys, our visionary founder, Jeff Wardell’s obsessions began with a collection of baseball cards. It wasn’t long before a fascination with exploding bottle rockets took over, and then motorcycles. The open road, small towns, big cities, back alleys. There’s plenty of opportunity to discover and explore obsessions when you log a lot of miles on a Moto Guzzi. During this time Jeff’s childhood obsessions morphed into a fascination with retail and brands – “What does it take to make a great brand?” Why do some stores get it and others don’t?” “There’s great stuff out there – Why can’t you find it in one amazing place?” When an obsession takes hold 1 of 2 things happen – you can either be committed or be committed. Jeff chose the latter – be committed to creating a truly unique hip brand name and store.
